Glendalough
Last stage of my tour of Ireland by bike. I will be back in Dublin in the early afternoon. But before that, a nice bump is waiting for me. The Wicklow National Park that I’m going to cross is a beautiful place. I was there in 2016, to hike for a few days before going to Belfast. If you are interested, the link is here.
There are only 60 km left to reach the capital. The road passes through the Wicklow Moutains National Park, a stretch of forest and a hiker’s paradise. At Laragh turn left following the R757 towards Glendalough. The viewpoint is worth the few km detour. Then, we turn back and pass in front of the cemetery of Glendalough before joining our route to Dublin.
On the way to Dublin
That’s it, my tour of Ireland is coming to an end. I really enjoyed this country that I come to visit for the second time. Ireland is a really surprising country, as much by its fabulous landscapes as by its differences between cities and countryside. The history of this country, has crossed the centuries, just looking around us, the old ruins, this reminds us of fantastic stories of druids and magic. Even on a bike, take the time to stop in the tourist places or simply by the roadside, when the beauty of the place inspires you to take pictures. And there is no lack of corners.
