Tour of Chalet-à-Gobet

Table of contents
Tour of the Vaud region from Chalet-à-Gobet. Ideal for the start of the season. A nice descent for half the route, then a good climb back up. A road that’s not too busy and a bike path that allows you to make the most of this ride.

Tour departs from Chalet-à-Gobet. Access is by car and parking is free on Sundays.

The tour takes little-traveled roads. Some sections are in forest, but always on tarmac roads.

The tour passes through the villages of Villars-Tiercelin, Chapelle-sur-Moudon, Saint-Cierges, Thierrens, as far as Donneloye. The first half of this route is fairly easy, descending all the way.

From Donneloye, the road climbs up, passing through the forest, to emerge at Bercher, then Fey and Sugnens. You then cross Echallens, avoiding the traffic as much as possible.

Rapeseed in bloom in April. It smells good!

The end of the route climbs back up to Chalet-à-Gobet via Etagnières, Cugy, before forking left to follow the cycle path back to the starting point.
