Start from Yverdon-les-Bains
The village of Brévine, also called “Switzerland’s Little Siberia”, can see its thermometer drop below -40 degrees Celsius. Situated on the shores of the Lac des Taillères, the village is located in the canton of Neuchâtel.
Col of Mauborget
The tour starts at the multi-sports center of Yverdon-les-Bains, passes by Grandson, then the Fontaines-sur-Grandson, before attacking the big climb to Mauborget. The slope has an average of 8% for about ten kilometers.
The plateau
The route then passes through Couvet, Travers, Les Ponts-de-Martels, La Chaux-du-milieu. The wind is often beneficial and it allows to swallow the distance.
From La Chaux-du-Milieu, the road makes a U-turn to reach La Brévine. If the road is flat or almost, the wind often blows strongly and the speed decreases drastically.
One last bump
The end of the loop passes through Fleurier, Buttes, where a last challenge awaits you before reaching Sainte-Croix.
The descent to Yverdon-les-Bains is a pleasure.
