Leaving Lahinch
7th stage of my tour of Ireland, Already a week on the roads. Time passes quickly, very quickly. Architectural sites and old ruins are all competing to offer themselves to you. Nothing like this to open your mind to the beauties of the world.
This stage is divided into two parts, the first one from Lahinch to the ferry in Killimer. A second part from the ferry landing at Tarbert to Killorglin. The first stage is undoubtedly the most difficult. It is necessary to pass a bump of more than 500m of positive elevation gain. The continuation of the road to the ferry is not very nice. We cross the moors at high speed.
A 20 minutes crossing for 1€50
A short ferry trip will take you from KiIlimer to Tarbert. It costs the modest sum of 1€50.
Tralee and Killorglin
The second part of the stage goes as fast as the first. From the ferry from Tarbert to Tralee, the road is flat. We advance very quickly, the kilometers pass by and the objective becomes clearer. As we are in advance on the planned schedule, I plan to stop in Tralee for the coffee break.
The last 25 kilometers are felt. It was a sporty day. Very happy to reach the goal set, Killorglin, first town on the Ring of Kerry.
