At the foot of the Grand Combin

There is nothing like a few days out the office to go for a walk in the mountains. Here is an idea for a walk well known to hikers, the grand Combin and its glacier, as well as the superb wilderness that surrounds it. The trip is worth it, just for the scenery.

Hiking in Wicklow National Park

The Wicklow Mountains National Park is a total change of scenery if you are coming from Dublin. Located 1 hour drive south of the capital, this magnificent region, open to all hikers thirsty for wilderness and photogenic landscapes each more beautiful than the other, offers beautiful walks to do alone or with the family.

The Mont-Blanc

Climbing the Mont-Blanc at 4808m is quite a challenge. Even more, if the departure is given from Chamonix. The approach is made slowly from the tourist resort, but, from the second day, the ice and the crevasses of the white valley spice up the whole thing. The main challenge begins in earnest on the fourth day, when you have to face, successively, the Mont-Blanc du Tacul, the Mont Maudit and the Mont-Blanc massif itself. This loop itinerary proposes to start from Chamonix and to come back, without mechanical assistance.

Canada (West)

Here is a travel mixing tourism and sport. The plan was to join the Sport Azur team for a week of cycling around Montreal. Once there, the visit of Quebec continued to the end of the world in Gaspésie and even beyond. Without omitting the Niagara waterfalls and the magnificent national parks

Morocco and Atlas on mountain bike

Morocco is well known for the beauty of its landscapes, its cities, its souks, its desert and its mountains. But when you come from Switzerland, the mountains can appear ridiculous. Well it is not the case with the Moroccan Atlas, whose Toubkal culminates anyway at more than 4000m. And why not to do it by mountain bike?

Mount Aconcagua

Aconcagua, the highest peak in the Andes, reaches 6961m above sea level. The Aconcagua is located in Argentina, in the province of Mendoza. It is in December 2008, just before the end of the year holidays, that this beautiful adventure took place, between high mountains and wild nature of the south.

Mount Kilimanjaro

Kilimanjaro, the highest peak of the African continent, is located entirely on the territory of Tanzania. But Tanzania is also a country of savannahs, therefore of wild life. So why not combine a safari with climbing Mount Kilimanjaro. Welcome to Africa.

The route to Everest

Nepal, country of trekking by principle. When Nepal is mentioned, it is often about Everest, the highest mountain in the world. But Nepal is also Kathmandu, its culture, its temples, its wealth. Nepal is also all those smiles on the faces, this crowded anthill, the farmers with their yaks on the steep paths. Nepal is also the communion with Buddha, the prayers, the haunting chorus. In short, Nepal has so much to offer that it would be difficult to summarize the country in one travel.

Peru – Bolivia – Ecuador

Peru, Bolivia, Ecuador in a single travel made in 2001 with my girlfriend. Three vast countries covered in shorts hops from Lima in Peru, passing by the famous Machu Picchu, to Bolivia and its capital, La Paz. Finally, to join Quito by plane, to play leapfrog on the line of the equator.
