Introduction
Prague, the capital of the Czech Republic, is also known as the City of a Hundred Spires”. It is divided into two banks by the river “Vlatava”. The old square in the city center houses a beautiful astronomical clock. Many historic buildings have been restored and give the city a colorful character. A museum is dedicated to Franz Kafka, a 20th century writer born in Prague.

The Prague Castle was built in the 8th century. It currently serves as the office of the Czech parliament.

The Charles Bridge provides a crossing of the river between the castle and the old town.
Astronomical clock
The Astronomical Clock is attached to the Old City Hall, located in the old downtown district. It includes, at its bottom, a representation of the earth and the sky. The upper ring represents the 12 signs of the zodiac. The position of the sun and moon is represented by needles.

The city is full of beautiful buildings, colorful facades, finely carved sculptures.
Franz Kafka Museum
A museum dedicated to Franz Kafka, a famous writer, born in Prague in the late 19 century. German-speaking, Kafka was famous for his writing that was halfway between realism and fantasy. The adjective “Kafkaesque” often refers to something absurd or illogical, somewhat along the lines of the mindless texts written by the author.
